Alec Bradley’s Kintsugi line is getting a new limited edition next month called Wabi Sabi, a cigar that was inspired by the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, which holds that there is beauty in imperfection, authenticity and the natural passage of time.
It’s a 6 x 52 toro that uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Mexican binder, and Nicaraguan fillers that were selected for the richness, depth, and natural variation they bring to each draw. A press release described the blend as “a medium to medium-plus cigar that’s balanced, expressive and quietly confident.”
“This blend is about appreciating the real,” said Bradley Rubin, brand ambassador for Alec Bradley, via a press release. “Wabi Sabi isn’t about flaws, it’s about honoring the character of the materials and the story they tell. We didn’t set out to chase perfection. We set out to create a cigar with soul, and what we found was something greater than the sum of its parts.”
The Alec Bradley Kintsugi Wabi Sabi is priced at $12.49 per cigar and $199.84 for a box of 16 cigars. Production is limited to 1,500 boxes, with the cigars made by AJ Fernandez. They are scheduled to begin shipping to stores on Aug. 4.
The original Kintsugi line is part of the Alec & Bradley portfolio, which was announced in the summer of 2020 and released in December that year.
