Lure Cigars has added a new Maduro core line to its portfolio, featuring the return of The Brown-E-Trout toro alongside a new robusto format called The Lil’ Trout.
Both cigars are Nicaraguan puros crafted with a dark maduro wrapper over tobaccos from Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa. According to company owner Lou Cross, this new line builds on last year’s limited release of The Brown-E-Trout. “Following the popular ‘Catch & Release’ of ‘The Brown-E-Trout’ last fall, we’re excited to bring it back as part of a full-production Maduro line,” Cross said. “We’ve also added a second vitola, ‘The Lil’ Trout,’ for those who want a slightly bolder, richer smoke — what we like to call a little more ‘loco in the cocoa.’”
Flavor notes described by Lure include brownie-like sweetness, baking spices, earthy undertones, and hints of espresso and cinnamon in the toro. The Lil’ Trout is blended to deliver a bit more strength and spice, with some comparing it to Mexican hot chocolate.
The Maduro line is produced at the La Tabacaria factory and distributed by Valacari Cigars. Both vitolas are being shipped to retailers in 10-count kraft paper packs with Boveda humidification.
