Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Ships Essentials & Deep Cuts Samplers

Last week, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust began shipping two new samplers.

The Essentials Sampler, pictured above, includes one each of seven cigars from the company’s core lines, six in a 6 x 52 toro vitola and the Sin Compromiso Selección No. 5, which measures 6 x 54.

Each sampler is a regular production offering with an MSRP of $115 and comes with one of the following:

• Umbagog Toro Toro (6 x 52)
• Mi Querida Ancho Largo (6 x 52)
• Mi Querida Triqui Traca No. 652 (6 x 52)
• StillWell Star LE Holiday Y2024 (6 x 52)
• Sin Compromiso Selección No. 5 (6 x 54)
• Sobremesa Solita Toro (6 x 52)
• Sobremesa Brûlée Toro (6 x 52)

“It contains a Toro from each of our brands making it perfect box for the person who wants to get a glimpse into the range of goodness we have to offer,” said Steve Saka, founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, in a post on his Facebook page.

In addition, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust is shipping the Deep Cuts Sampler, which includes 11 cigars of various shapes and sizes taken from the company’s core and limited portfolios. Perhaps the most notable cigars in the sampler are the new Sin Compromiso Word of Saka, and the return of the Todos Las Días Thick Lonsdale “Mas Fuerte”.

The Deep Cuts Sampler has an MSRP of $225 and includes one each of 11 cigars:

Only 5,000 Deep Cuts samplers have been made.

“The DTTDC contains the exact 11 cigars that I personally smoke on the regular, including two commercially unavailable ones: the Todos Las Dias Thick Lonsdale & the never shared, super rare ‘Word of Saka,’” said Saka, in a post on his Facebook page. “These are my personal favorites, the best of the best.”

Saka has not detailed the Word of Saka cigar, other than to say it is made at Fábrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua S.A.

This sampler also includes another shipment of the Todos Las Días Thick Lonsdale “Mas Fuerte”, which was introduced in 2018 as a limited edition and returned in 2023. The cigar is a modified version of the Todos Las Días blend, one that was created somewhat by mistake.

“When originally blending the Todos Las Dias liga there were two finished core blends comprised of the same tobaccos, but with different proportions,” said Saka in a press release in 2018. “Ultimately, I selected the one I felt worked best in the original formats to be released and relegated the other to my blending diary. When it came time to add the Thick Lonsdale to the line, I inadvertently gave them the recipe for the stronger iteration. In their defense, the factory asked me to verify the blend twice, but I managed to still muck it up and authorized them to produce 200 boxes as instructed. I didn’t actually realize my mistake until I was smoking the post production cigars for quality control purposes. Right away I knew something was askew.”

In 2023, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust released 12,000 more Todos Las Días Thick Lonsdale “Mas Fuerte” cigars as part of its Archived Series, which sees the company re-release cigars that have been otherwise discontinued.

Both samplers contain cigars made at Fábrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua S.A. and Nicaragua American Cigars S.A.
