Viaje Adding New Vampire Dust Red, Bringing Back Zombie Farmer Bill Hatchet

Next week, Viaje will be shipping a pair of cigars to retailers: a new line called Vampire Dust Red, and the return of Zombie Farmer Bill Hatchet.

The company has kept almost all of the details of the Vampire Dust Red under wraps, though halfwheel has learned a few details. First, while the blend is undisclosed, it’s a different blend from the Vampire Dust Purple that came out in January 2025. It will be offered in a single 5 x 54 vitola, a size it shares with the Vampire Dust Purple line. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Shipping alongside the Vampire Dust Red will be the return of the Zombie Farmer Bill Hatchet, the first time that the cigar has been released since 2021. It is still a 5 1/2 x 54 box-pressed robusto, using a Nicaraguan criollo 98 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler. Pricing is set at $11.67 per cigar and $350.10 for a box of 30 cigars.

Zombie Farmer Bill Hatchet debuted in 2016 as a merging of two of Viaje’s other lines, the Zombie and the Farmer Bill Hatchet. Farmer Bill Hatchet debuted in 2014 as a new line that built on the company’s Thanksgiving-themed Stuffed Turkey cigars. A backstory explained that the character was the person who got the turkeys from farm to table. The Zombie part of the name comes from a line that debuted in 2011 as a follow-up to the company’s WMD and MOAB cigars, with the storyline that the name came from people’s transitions to zombies after being exposed “to the radiation from the WMD release.” Zombie has also crossed over into other lines, including the Zombie Super Shot, while being the basis for the Zombie Antidote and Zombie Biohazard.

Both cigars are slated to begin shipping next week.
