Cuaba Cigars, Nub by Oliva Cigars and Farewell Josh

Hi everyone, the weather has been very crazy this week but it didn’t stop you from ordering your favourite cigars.

Monday was incredibly busy with online orders, it was probably one of our busiest days this year! As a team we all got through it and picked all of the orders and then we helped the packing department. It’s always great to see the fluidity within the team. Again, I have seen a lot of people taking advantage of our “try something new” cigar. This is a great add on if you like a variety, but you must be a C.Gars plus member. We recently found out that over 40% of our customers are purchasing the “try something new” and we really appreciate it and I’ve noticed sales for previous cigars in that selection have risen. So it really shows that you may find something you enjoy.

On Tuesday, I spent a lot of time working with suppliers to try to get the best cigars for my Cigar Subscriptions. There is big plans for my subscriptions and I can’t wait to tell you all! In between emailing suppliers, I created an article for the C.Gars Cigar Library – It’s called Cuaba Cigars: The Art of the Double Figurado – You can read it here. I find it fascinating that there was a brand created just for the double figurado shape and 30 years later it is incredibly popular.

On Wednesday, I spent the first part of my day picking online orders. Afterwards, I had noticed a lot of Cuban stock went offline and so I had a large list to go through and put back online – not entirely sure what happened but it’s all back available for you all to purchase. In the afternoon, Lisa and I made a start on the cigar stock count. We counted all of the New World boxes as well as most of the other New World cigars in our Cuban humidor (Which at this rate is more of a mixed humidor). We were both very impressed with our achievement.

Thursday was stock count day, this time I got to do it with Scarlett! This is her second time doing it but first time counting the cigars instead of doing the laptop side. She did a brilliant job and we were finished by 2pm, which is very good for her first time counting! I will always remember the days, when it used to take all day to complete it. Afterwards, I had more cigar admin to complete, including de-activating the Nub by Oliva Connecticut 354 cigar. I had no idea that this quite popular cigar would be discontinued and now I worry about the rest of the range so get them now in case they get discontinued too.

On Friday, we were short staffed due to members of our team having some well deserved time off. Lisa and I held the fort though, with help from the rest of the team. It’s almost pay back from Monday, where we helped the packing department – Now they’re helping us. In the afternoon, I did one last cigar stock up and order, ready for the whatever the following week brings.

I just wanted to end this blog with a note for my good friend Josh. Unfortunately, Josh has now left the company, he will be sorely missed as a colleague and a friend. Those who used to come into the shop loved being served by Josh as he was so passionate about cigars. I hope he does well for himself in the future.
