Altadis U.S.A. has announced a new addition to its Aging Room portfolio with the debut of Aging Room Blue Amber, a project developed by Rafael Nodal in collaboration with AJ Fernandez. The release marks the 15th anniversary of the Aging Room brand and introduces a redesigned look for the line.
Blue Amber draws inspiration from the rare blue amber gemstone found in the Cordillera Septentrional mountain range in the Dominican Republic. According to Nodal, the project is rooted both in the region’s cultural significance and its tobacco-growing heritage.
“Blue Amber is a cigar born from the same land that gives life to the rare gemstone it’s named after,” Nodal said. “This connection is more than symbolic; it’s literal.” He added that the blend aims to reflect the “distinctive mineral essence” and layered flavors associated with tobacco grown in the area.
The cigar features Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, including filler from the La Cumbre region, and is produced in Nicaragua at AJ Fernandez’s factory. It will be offered in four box-pressed vitolas, all packaged in a blue-themed humidor-style box. Shipments are expected to begin in December through appointed Aging Room Maestro retailers.
In addition to the cigar release, the brand has partnered with British watchmaker Dennison Watches on a limited-edition timepiece featuring a dial made from blue amber. Only 225 units will be made.
