Artesano Del Tobacco has introduced a new size to its El Pulpo brand: the El Pulpo Perfecto, nicknamed “The Squid.” The 6.5 x 60 box-pressed Perfecto will begin arriving at retailers on August 28, 2025.
The blend remains the same as the core El Pulpo line, using a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. Production takes place at AJ Fernandez’s factory in Nicaragua, with each box containing 10 cigars.
The idea for the new shape came from feedback by smokers who asked for a size that better expressed the balance and character of the blend. “Based on suggestions from our loyal consumers who desired a unique shape that embodies strength and balance of the El Pulpo blend, we opted for a perfecto shape,” said Billy, Bass & Gus of Artesano Del Tobacco. The nickname came during a pre-release event at Matador Cigar Lounge in New York City, when the lounge’s GM remarked that the cigar resembled a squid.
The El Pulpo Perfecto “The Squid” carries an MSRP of $20 per cigar or $200 per box.
