CAO Fuma Em Corda Gets New Sampler-Exclusive Vitola

The CAO Fuma Em Corda, a spin-off within the brand’s popular Amazon Basin Series, is getting a new release as part of a new sampler.

It’s part of the new CAO Outpost Sampler Vol. 2, which comes with five cigars, four of which are existing regular production cigars. The fifth is the new CAO Fuma Em Corda Toro, which is listed as a 6 x 52 toro, a new vitola for the line that debuted in 2017. That was when General Cigar Co. was beginning to double down on the success of the original Amazon Basin, which was introduced in 2014. The Fuma Em Corda, which translates into smoke on a rope, uses a Honduran corojo wrapper over a Cameroon binder and fillers from Brazil, Honduras and Nicaragua.

The name comes from the Brazilian Arapiraca tobacco, which is fermented on a rope. It was offered in two vitolas—Robusto (5 x 50) and Toro (6 x 58)—each of which was limited. The cigars use a band that looks like an X made out of pieces of tobacco.

Each CAO Outpost Sampler Vol. 2 comes with one of the following:

• CAO Italia Gondola (6 1/4 x 54)
• CAO Fuma Em Corda Toro (6 x 52)
• CAO Brazilia Lambada (6 x 50)
• CAO Zócalo Robusto (5 x 52)

The packs have an MSRP of $49.99 and are already on sale.
