After a bit of a delay, the newest versions of Fratello’s Arlequín brand are heading to stores.
The release is the Fratello Arlequín Edizione Di Carnevale, two different Churchill cigars packed in a single box that contains 20 cigars, 10 of each wrapper version. The cigars are box-pressed 7 x 50 Churchills, which are offered in both the original Arlequín blend as well as the Arlequín Connecticut. The Arlequín uses a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper, while the lighter cigar uses a Connecticut-seed tobacco grown in Ecuador. Both blends use an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from Nicaragua. This is a new vitola for both lines and, as of now, is only offered in this packaging format.
Each cigar has an MSRP of $13.50, meaning the box price is $270.
“Our Arlequin line is a fan favorite and exemplifies the fun, color, energy, and passion we bring to this industry,” said Omar de Frias, the company’s founder, in a press release when the cigar was announced in April. “As one of Fratello’s top-selling and highest-rated brands, we wanted to deliver a new vitola that enhances the incredible flavors our fans have come to expect.”
Originally, Fratello hoped to ship the cigars as early as June. de Frias told halfwheel that the company received the shipment from Joya de Nicaragua, which makes the cigars, and is processing orders this week. He said consumers can expect to see them on shelves next week.
