J.C. Newman Cigar Co., which marks its 130th year in 2025, has begun distributing a special-edition Diamond Crown 130th Anniversary Humidor to select retailers across the country. The limited run includes 130 humidors—one for each year of the company’s history—each filled with 130 Diamond Crown Belicoso No. 9 cigars.
The commemorative humidor features a white piano-style finish, gold-colored details, and hardware shaped to match the Diamond Crown identity. Inside are five trays that hold the new Belicoso No. 9 size, a cigar J.C. Newman first introduced during the debut of its updated Diamond Crown Classic packaging last year.
“Diamond Crown is our family’s anniversary cigar,” said fourth-generation owner Drew Newman. “My great-grandfather created Diamond Crown more than a century ago. In 1995, my grandfather Stanford J. Newman and Carlos Fuente, Jr. created Diamond Crown Classic to celebrate our company’s 100th anniversary. It is only fitting that we celebrate our latest milestone with our Diamond Crown 130th Anniversary humidor.”

The release also ties back to the company’s early beginnings. When J.C. Newman founded the operation in 1895, an estimated 40,000 licensed cigar manufacturers operated in the United States. Today, the company describes itself as the oldest family-owned premium cigar maker still active, producing cigars at its historic El Reloj factory in Tampa.
Newman also noted the significance of sharing the Belicoso No. 9 more broadly: “Our Diamond Crown 130th anniversary humidors is the first time this new size is shared with cigar enthusiasts around the country.” The company also referenced earlier remarks tied to the creation of Diamond Crown Classic, quoting Stanford J. Newman’s desire “to make the best cigar in the world,” and Carlos Fuente Jr.’s comment, “I made this cigar for a man I loved.”
The humidors are shipping now with an MSRP of $2,250.
