Lure Cigars has announced its latest project, a collaboration with Valacari Cigars called The Redfish. The cigar is a tribute to Lure owner Lou Cross’s late father and marks a deeper partnership between the two boutique brands.
“When I approached Nimmer [Ahmad] with the idea of making a cigar to honor my late father, he gladly offered his help and was patient and supportive as the brand gained traction,” Cross said. “We felt it was the perfect time to combine some of the best offerings from both companies and create a cigar that showcased the signatures of both brands.”
The Redfish features a Nicaraguan Corojo Oscuro wrapper previously used in Lure’s core line, along with an Ometepe binder and filler tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe—sourced from Valacari’s Lumineer. The 6″ x 52 soft box-press toro is described as medium-to-full in strength with notes of dried fruit, espresso, leather, baking spices, and white pepper.
Limited to 2,500 cigars, The Redfish will be sold in wine-colored, craft-paper 10-count packs with Boveda humidification. The cigars will ship to retailers beginning September 2, 2025, and will be available through ten retail partners, including Luxury Cigar Club, Small Batch Cigar, and Mardo Cigars.
