The Prodigal Son, the new cigar line from Martin Kove, the actor who played John Kreese in “The Karate Kid” and “Cobra Kai,” is on its way to stores.
The cigars are named for an upcoming TV series and a four-part comic book series developed by Kove. The Prodigal Son is being released in a single 6 x 52 toro vitola with an undisclosed blend, which were produced at Tabacalera Jurarip, Chico Rivas’ factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic, which has also produced cigars for Sanj Patel. Pricing is set at $14 per cigar and $280 for a 20-count box.
The line was developed by Kove with Paul DiSilvio of La Casa Grande Cigars and Sanj Patel of Sanj’s Smoke Shop and the SP1014 brand of cigars. DiSilvio has also worked with actor Chazz Palminteri on his A Bronx Tale line of cigars.
The cigars are being launched at three retailers: La Casa Grande Cigars in the Bronx, N.Y.; Sanj’s Smoke Shop in Bloomfield, N.J., and Smoke Inn, which has multiple locations in South Florida.
A press release said that the company hopes to expand production and availability, which it said would make the cigars more widely available by Fall 2025 or early 2026.
