For the last five years, Sinistro has closed out each year with a release called NV, which the company says uses only the best, aged leaves.
This week, the 2025 version of NV is shipping to stores, this time in two new vitolas. The blend remains the same as it has been: a 10-year-old Dominican corojo wrapper that is grown by the Rodriguez family. Underneath that is an Indonesian Sumatra-seed binder and four fillers: Dominican olor and piloto cubano paired with ligero from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. The line is made at Tabacalera El Artista, also owned by the Rodriguez family.
For 2025, there are two new vitolas:
- Sinistro NV Minos (6 1/2 x 60 box-pressed belicoso) — $25 (Box of 20, $500)
- Sinistro NV Orpheus (5 x 54) — $20 (Box of 20, $400)
Due to lower tobacco yields, production is limited to 100 boxes of each size, half of what was released in 2024.
The name combines the heritage of Sinistro’s two co-owners, James Agopian and Coleman Fine. The N is based on the Armenian N, while the V is based on the Syrian V.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the annual release of the Sinistro NV cigar, a standout offering that continues to exceed our expectations and strengthen our pride in this exceptional brand,” said Fine in an email to halfwheel.
