STG Raises Prices for 2025, Discontinues 34 Items

Effective today, Aug. 4, Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) is increasing the prices of the cigars that it sells in America.

Unlike most of the price increases that have been announced in recent months, the company says that this increase is unrelated to the Trump administration’s recent tariffs. Instead, this serves as the annual price adjustment for two of its American sales divisions: General Cigar Co. and Forged Cigar Co.

STG was one of a few companies that opted for a tariff surcharge instead of a full price list revision; in its case, a 5 percent charge is added onto every order to account for the tariffs. Previously, the company said that if the tariffs were reversed, it would remove the tariff surcharge immediately, a position it reiterated in letters to retailers last week.

STG has three different wholesale cigar operations:

• General Cigar Co. — Sells CAO, Don Tomas, Macanudo, Odyssey, and the non-Cuban versions of Cohiba, Hoyo de Monterrey, Punch and Sancho Panza.
• Forged Cigar Co. — Sells Alec Bradley, Chillin’ Moose, Diesel, Los Statos, Room101 and the non-Cuban versions of Bolivar, El Rey del Mundo, La Gloria Cubana and Partagas.
• Meier & Dutch — Sells 5 Vegas, Ave Maria, Man O’War, Nica Libre and various Buffalo Trace-branded cigars.

In addition to the price increase, the company has announced that it has discontinued 34 SKUs across the General and Forged portfolios, most of which are from the Alec Bradley brand. STG acquired Alec Bradley in early 2023.

The discontinued SKUs are:

• Alec Bradley Connecticut Nano
• Alec Bradley Connecticut Torpedo
• Alec Bradley It’s a Boy
• Alec Bradley It’s a Girl
• Alec Bradley The Lineage 665
