Bocock Brothers Pay Tribute to 100th Anniversary of Mizzou’s Memorial Stadium

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the University of Missouri’s Memorial Stadium. The school already has a partnership with licensed cigars from Houston-based Bocock Brothers, and the cigar brand has a new series of cigars that comes in boxes designed to look like a football stadium.

You can imagine what is coming next.

The Bocock Brothers Mizzou Stadium Series: Memorial Stadium 100 Year Celebration is a new 6 x 52 toro that uses a Honduran madurao wrappr over a blend of tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua and Paraguay. The company says that the cigar has flavors of “earthy spice and a dark floral note beneath the cocoa, oak and espresso.”

This is part of Bocock Brothers’ new Stadium Series Collection, which has boxes that are designed to look like stadiums. Rather than having a single lid, there are hinges on both sides. The insides of the two top pieces of the lid are painted to look like the stands of a stadium. When the lids open, a painted version of the field is revealed, while the cigars are placed underneath the field.

The company says each box is painted by hand.

“To play a role in Mizzou’s centennial is a genuine honor,” said Bryant Bocock, co-founder of Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars, in a press release. “We wanted to craft a release that truly honors a century of Saturdays at Faurot Field, giving Tigers fans something they can savor on game day and proudly keep as a piece of history.”

The stadium, officially Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium, opened in 1926. Ahead of this year’s season, the school completed a $250 million upgrade to the facility

Bocock Brothers now has official licensing partnerships with 21 universities for cigars like this. As with other releases in the series, the company is selling the Bocock Brothers Mizzou Stadium Series: Memorial Stadium 100 Year Celebration directly through its website as well as through local stores.
