For the last month, La Flor Dominicana has been teasing the 10th anniversary of the Andalusian Bull and an accompanying movie that the Dominican company has produced about the original cigar.
Tomorrow, the new cigar will begin shipping to stores.
The La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro keeps the same unique 6 1/2 x 52/64 perfecto shape of the original cigar, but replaces the Ecuadorian wrapper with a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. Underneath is tobacco grown on the company’s farm in La Canela, Dominican Republic, from the 2016 harvest.
“The Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro respects the blend of its predecessor, while offering a layer of depth and richness that creates a familiar yet distinctive smoking experience,” said the company in materials provided to retailers. “In honor of this milestone release, the binder and filler are comprised of estate-grown tobaccos from our 2016 La Canela crop that have been meticulously fermented and aged. The Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro features a Maduro Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, honoring La Flor Dominicana’s longtime love for Connecticut Broadleaf and mastery of
Maduro wrappers. The end result is a sweeter, richer, and
darker Andalusian Bull.”
Unlike the regular Andalusian Bull, the new release is limited to just 5,000 boxes. In addition, the packaging is radically different than the first release.

La Flor Dominicana has shown retailers a new version of its Andalusian Bull ashtray, this time with a circular shape instead of an oval profile.
The original cigar, which is still sold today, was created after Litto Gomez took a trip to southern Spain and discovered a worn-down cigar mold with a unique shape. He brought the mold back and the company replicated it and then started to work on the brand. Tony Gomez, wanting to pay tribute to where the mold was found, thought about the region and came up with the name Andalusian Bull, which honors the area’s bullfighting tradition.
