One of the most repeated images at every Intertabac trade show is the tobacco master Rubén Arteaga rolling cigars at the La Regenta – Dos Santos booth throughout the event. Founded in 1921, this is the oldest cigar factory in the Canary Islands (Spain)—and one of the oldest in Europe—and it is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year with a new limited edition that follows the successful path of its predecessors.
The initial run of the La Regenta 105th Anniversary edition consists of just 4,000 cigars, presented in 10-count boxes; however, Rubén Arteaga (in the picture with Gara Barreto, La Regenta manager) notes that if demand arises, there is still enough tobacco available to produce much more. The cigar features a trendy, thick-gauge format—measuring 135 mm x 56 (5 5/16 x 56) —finished with a fan-style cap. It sports an Ecuadorian Habano colorado wrapper, a Mexican binder, and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos in the filler. It will be available in all international markets before the end of the year.
